From Shannon ~ for you consideration: Orly’s Space Cadet from the Cosmic FX Fall 2010 collection. This is just so WOW for me, check out that shift from rose to copper to pink to green to gold . . yeah, it’s got it all! This is a dead-on dupe for MAC’s Mean & Green from the Venomous Villains collection and therefore a much affordable polish, plus MAC’s nail polish brushes are just no bueno (Orly’s brushes are nice, long and thin, and the rubber cap makes the grippability even better). The formula is pretty sheer though, and I used 3 coats and probably should have used 4 coats. It also started chipping on me the next day 😦 Lots of pics to capture that shift:
From Mary ~ for your consideration: Zoya’s Happi from their Spring 2010 Reverie collection. This is a lovely soft pink duochrome with a golden shimmer. This says to me “Spring is here!” The consistency of the polish is watery, so it did take 3 coats for full opacity. There are several pics as Mom attempted to capture the shift in this as much as possible. A couple of the pics are slightly blurry but really caught the effect of the polish. Three coats plus top coat:
From Shannon ~ L’Oreal Gold Dust in I Like It Chunky & Too Dimensional?
I Like It Chunky (snickers, really?) is a golden brown matte texture with pink sparkles. Despite the name, it is a really unique color. The staying power on this was really good too, no chipping for at least 3 days. Here it is 2 coats, no undies or top coat:
Too Dimensional? is a denim blue with a greenish-gold shift underneath and silver sparkles throughout. This is such a gorgeous color, but it chipped within 24 hours. Here it is 3 coats (I found the extra coat brought out the greenish-gold tint better), no undies or top coat:
So far I am really loving the Gold Dust collection! Rite Aid and Walgreen’s had these on sale for BOGO50% off, and being they retail for about $6 that is a steal!
Magical Pixie Dust is (regular) Pixie Dust on steroids. Oh the sparkle Gods are with us on this one!
Ahhh, they finally arrived – Zoya’s Magical Pixie Dust Collection which has just been released for Spring 2014. We received a mini-bottle set of all three colors Cosmo (the silver), Vega (the blue), and Lux (the pink). If you have ever tried the regular Pixie Dust polishes then you are in for a blingy-bling treat. I found Vega to be thicker than the other two on application, so you are going to want to use thin coats. We used 2 coats for all three, no undies or top coat. I know these aren’t the great pics ever, but our camera was freaking out over all the sparkle.
From left to right: Vegas, Lux, and Cosmo
Shannon is wearing Lux on the left, and Mary is wearing both Vega and Cosmo (ring finger) on the right:
LUX . . .
Vega and Cosmo, wooooow:
The bling in these polishes are UN-REAL. Not really looking forward to when it’s time to remove haha!
From Shannon ~ I have really grown fond of texture polish, they are so unique! When Mary and I were at Walgreen’s a couple of weeks ago, we saw the L’Oreal Colour Riche Nail Color Gold Dust Collection was BOGO50%, so we picked up six of them! Here is the first review for Pop The Bubbles.
L’Oreal ‘s Pop The Bubbles is teal (leaning more towards blue) texture loaded with glitter and sequins. This is meant to be worn without a base coat or a top coat. This is so wow, I cannot stop staring at my nails! It almost has a foiled look to it in certain lighting (as seen below in my LED “claw” picture). The brush was really odd though, extremely wide, and for those of us ladies who have curvy nails it can be a bit problematic. Also, it did not dry as fast as other textures do. However, I will not stop that from wearing this color again, it is just so fabu! From what I have read on other blogs, this color is a dead-on dupe for Julie G Frosted Gumdrops Rock Candy, so if you already own that one you can skip Pop The Bubbles. Also, if textures are not really your thing you could put a couple coats of top coat over to smooth it out. Pictures below are 2 coats without top coat:

What do you think about textures?
From Shannon ~ for your consideration: Contrary Polish’s Tiger’s Eye from the On The Rocks collection, a medium brown with a bold gold shimmer. This is such an unusual brown color, I know we don’t have anything remotely like it in our polish stash! Carrie does some truly amazing things with shimmery polishes. Fully opaque in 2 coats! Because we bougth this (and 3 other colors) in mini bottles it was a bit difficult to pose around the bottle haha, but for being a mini the brush on this was really nice! Here it is 2 coats, no top coat:
You can buy mini bottles by emailing your request directly from Carrie at ContraryPolish@gmail.com, or through the Llarowe website.
From Mary ~ for your consideration: CrowsToes One Trick Pony. Mom bought this polish from a destash lot on eBay specifically for this color. We have been dying to try out CrowsToes for awhile now (gotta love that art on those bottles, wow!) One Trick Pony is a deep dusky purple with a fabu holo! It’s supposed to be a purple-to-green duochrome but I just can’t see it. So pretty otherwise! Here it is 3 coats, no top coat:
